Buying online is more commonplace than it used to be, allowing consumers to purchase products with ease from the comfort of their own homes, whether they are getting Christmas shopping done on a lunch break, buying a gift for mom, or getting a book or movie late at night.

There is some dispute from different consumer advocates about whether or not a person should shop online with debit or credit cards. In the debit vs credit battle, Clark Howard, host of The Clark Howard Show on both radio and HLN, and Dave Ramsey, host of The Dave Ramsey Show, which is also on the radio and the Fox Business Channel have differing views.

Ramsey tells listeners to always use debit so as to cash flow their lifestyles. Howard tells people to use credit because in case of fraud, disputing the purchase can be much easier. Can they both be right?
